Specifically, we intend to identify the relationship between socioeconomic circumstances and food consumption behavior; ii) identify the relationship between socioeconomic conditions and food security and nutrition; iii) lifting the relationship between food security and nutrition security; iv) identify the possible effects of nutrition knowledge on the food consumption behavior. To that end, a theoretical model was formulated; the hypotheses were tested using structural equation modeling. The results provide a basis for the lifting of weaknesses, strengths, threats and opportunities of the territory, directing the potentialities and difficulties in establishing public policies to food and nutrition security.
