Producción y comercialización de arándanos: un estudio de caso de una empresa familiar

Resumen

El arándano es una fruta rica en antioxidantes naturales, minerales y vitaminas. Considerada un alimento de moda, la fruta tiene propiedades para retrasar el envejecimiento y ayudar a prevenir enfermedades. En este trabajo se analizó ‒bajo las premisas de la teoría de los grupos de interés o stakeholders‒ la percepción de las partes interesadas sobre aspectos que impactan en el negocio de producción y comercialización de esta fruta por parte de una empresa familiar. Se desarrolló un estudio de caso cualitativo, guiado por la teoría de los stakeholders, con diez entrevistas semiestructuradas con cada uno de los representantes de los grupos de accionistas, empleados, clientes, proveedores, acreedores y de la sociedad, sin los cuales, según las premisas de la teoría, la empresa dejaría de existir. Dado que depende de las partes interesadas, la empresa familiar debe planificar y ejecutar las actividades desde la perspectiva de la teoría de los grupos de interés. Este trabajo aporta a la teoría con la evidencia de que los grupos de interés tienen una relación directa con la empresa familiar y generan valor económico, social y sostenible. Como aporte práctico, se desarrollan categorías de análisis de la empresa familiar, vinculándolas a las perspectivas de la teoría de los stakeholders, y se evidencian las diferentes percepciones de los grupos de interés y la necesidad de una gestión para relaciones beneficiosas, en las que todos puedan contribuir y obtener ganancias. El estudio de un solo caso se señala como factor limitante, es decir, si se agrandara la muestra se podría generar sesgo en los resultados. Se sugiere para futuros estudios ampliar la muestra y evaluar cómo las empresas familiares pueden medir la influencia de los grupos de interés en la generación de valor económico, social y sostenible.
