Abstract
From the biblical perspective of labor contained in Genesis, and regained nowadays by modem Christian thought, to present-day administrative theories, when the literature in vast but the results are controversial most of the time, the author analyses work motivation.
Paulo Roberto Motta concludes the article by reporting to findings in American research where award, success and symbolical rewards that emphasize the positive side of issues may bring forward highly desirable behavior and results.
Happiness and enthusiasm must be part of modem administrative technology and they can only be attained by persistent rewards and conviction of perceived merit.
