Guerreiro Ramos and the importance of the concept of sociological reduction in Brazilian development

Abstract
The objective of the author is to point out the relevance of the concept of sociological reduction in the Brazilian development.
According to the author, Guerreiro Ramos himself thought his theory as the beginning of a revolution in the Brazilian thinking, like a first step towards the arising of a national consciousness that our country was a unique reality with its own problems demanding specific solutions.
Although the conception of sociological reduction had born under visible existentialist influence, this fact does not mean that it is limited at a specific period of time.
After analyzing the concept of sociological reduction, the author tries to avaliate the Brazilian public administration experience in the light of ideas formulated by Guerreiro Ramos in some of his books.
