Main Article Content
Abstract
This article describes and analyzes the management team of a public company in terms of quality of life at the workplace and occupational stress variables. The con- text of reorganization includes multiple impacts in the managers¿ activities and the meanings they give to this experience, with implications to their health. A descriptive survey was performed considering both quantitative and qualitative approaches among 144 managers. Of those, 96 (the sample) answered the questionnaire, which was the main data collection tool. In general terms, the levels of quality of life at the workplace were satisfactory. However, occupational stress was identified. As a result, there is a need to structure people management policies and practices in order to identify, demystify and monitor occupational stress among managers, including more specific diagnostic research. These activities are additional resources to the productive reorganization in course, therefore they are connected to the management of the work force and of conflicts.
