The lab and the orchard: a qualitative study on the research-production relationship
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objective of the research presented in this article is to understand the process of organizational change in the conduction of apple research in the state of Santa Catarina, which originated in the partnership between public research and the productive private sector. The historical-organizational case study based on qualitative research revealed that the partnership is the result of a series of movements which have been taking place in apple research since the early 1970s, and that culminated in a greater qualitative change in the 1990s.
