Abstract

The Healthcare Council — composed by government’s representatives, service providers and users of health — formulates strategies and controls the implementation of healthcare policies in the corresponding federative level, including the economic and financial aspects, and has its decisions homologated by the Executive branch. This paper analyzes the profile of the municipal healthcare council of five small cities in the state of São Paulo, Brazil.
