Abstract
This paper describes the nature and roles of science and tcchnology, and studies the relations between technological innovation and the economic process. The paper also reveals the links between technology and power, and its efects in the globalization process.
The transformations in the scientitic creation process and their political effects are also shown. Two concepts - core technologies and technological landscaping -, which may be used in technological strategic planning, are also presented.
