Abstract
This article reviews a wide number of authors, trying to show the similarities between TQC and Taylorism, as well as with its more recent versions. The article suggests that the transference of managerial technologies depends upon cultural diferences. After
considering work conditions in terms of mental health, the article proposes that there is a relatiomhip between mental load, mental illness, and work fragmentation.
