Abstract
The text discusses the relations between power and morals in the contemporary modernity. lt confronts two paradigms: Machiavelli and Martin Buber. The two thinkers are "visited" with the aim of bringing to light the implications of their works and altitudes to the correlations ofknowledge, power and ethies. lt aims particularly at making explicit how the hegemony of the "machiavellic"or the "buberian" paradigm ean affeet the self-understanding by the human persons.
