Abstract

The General Theory of Systems is here approached as an instrument for analysis and diagnosis from a totally comprehensive view, thus concurring to correct the desfiguring proposition of specialization, in which organizations are divided into independent functional areas. Concepts held as particular features of the Theory may be used in pursuit of an interpretation of organizational dynamics, considering both the entities' internal functioning and the action of other external environments. When properly assimilated, the General Theory of Systems may constitute e valuable subsidy in the attainment of a critical position for examination and understanding of organizations in peripheral societies.
