Abstract

Considering that Brazilian scientific production is conditioned by other cultures, this article shows the possible consequences, for organizational analysis in this country, the use of foreign references. The article stresses on the importance of harmony between administration and society, the influence of culture on intellectual production, the role of references on the reinforcement of fads, the cultural aspect of the process of globalization of the economy, the conditioning of Brazilian administration to foreign cultural patterns, and how scientific research considers the Brazilian society. The main conclusion is that a truly Brazilian organizational analysis has not yet been developed.
