On the economic reform of the Brazilian State

Abstract
The author starts by informing that his article has its inspiration in the perspective of the modern economic theory that considers State reform as essentially processual. Section 2 establishes the reference of the model of public choices, for the study of the State reform. Section 3 analyzes, under the perspective of the public choices, the major constitutional mechanism: the separation of powers, federalism, bicameralism and independence of the Judiciary. Section 4 deals with the permanence of the Constitution, since a fundamental consequence of the reform of the Brazilian State is institutional stability, in which the economic policy may have its environment. Section 5 is a résumé of the strict conditions under which economic analysis was performed in the previous sections.
Section 6 presents the bibliography supporting the institutional economic analysis carried out in the study.
