Hospital care: what matters to the patient?
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper reports on the conclusions of a perception research applied to patients and hospital chiefs in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, about the most important conditions for a satisfactory medical care. Technical conditions - especially the physician's professional competence - were considered the main ones by both groups. These conclusions reflect social symbols and values, besides the recognition of the professional responsibility in the medical act.
