Organizational restructuring: major challenges for Public Ministry of Rio Grande do Norte

Abstract
This article aims to assess the organizational restructuring of the Public Ministry of Rio Grande do Norte (MPRN) occurred in 2010, checking the administrative impacts of the change process and implementation of the new organizational structure. Data were obtained through documents, reports, and with the members of the Senior Management and executive positions in MPRN. The data demonstrate that the administrative modernization process was well accepted among the respondents and that improved the performance and productivity of its units. The research concludes that there has been progress in institutional performance, but that it is necessary to consolidate the new routines established the improvement of communication between administrative units and between plaintiffs and defendants in order to ensure the effectiveness of the project.
